Desc: Iceberg. A Run Against Violence: Directed by Steve Pasvolsky. During 12 days in November 2014, Kirrily Dear ran 860km throughout North Western NSW from Walgett to Forbes. The purpose of her run was to raise awareness of Domestic Violence in Australia and in particular rural NSW where the rates of abuse are significantly higher than in other communities. Throughout the run a film crew captured the major events of the run and explored the effects that Domestic Violence is having in this communities. Originally intended as a documentation of the physical achievement of running 860km and to highlight the work that is happening in these communities in relation to reducing incidents of Domestic Violence, it soon became apparent that the flow on effects of Domestic Violence we far deeper and reaching than first understood. What we were exploring was the tip of the ICEBERG, what we were discovering was a much greater story lying beneath the surface.
